Japanese prices
I don't know what are the criteria to make statistics about how expensive is a country or a city but I've been surprised about Japan because eventhough Tokyo is suposed to be one the most expensive city in the world, I've found Tokyo and Japan very cheap comparing to Denmark.click on lire la suite for more
I don't know how much it is for a flat, for a house, for a car but I do know about food, hotels, youth hostels, transportation and wow! gosh it's so cheap comparing to Denmark. For 10€ you can have a complete meal in any Japanese restaurant. For the same price in Denmark you can only get a starter. I prefer don't speak about prices at the supermarket. Youth hostels are clean, cosy and about half price than in Copenhaguen.
I'm surprise then to find Tokyo in the top 4 of the most expensive cities in the world, before Copenhaguen. And I'm even more surprise to read that Tokyo is on the top 4 because of food' prices.
I don't want tell that I'm better or know better than economists but I desagree with this position. London is expensive, yes, Zürich as well, Oslo but not Tokyo. Transportation can be expensive if one use only Shinkansen but still, it's cheaper than a normal train ticket in Denmark.
I also looked for a room in Copenhaguen (I was supposed to move there but decided to stay in Århus) and the rent is as expensive as in Tokyo, even more.
Actually I think that it's easier to make statistics about others topics than prices range because it's so subjective.
Well, I've been positively surprised by Japanese prices. Of course if you plan to go only in 5 stars hotels and restaurants or buy a flat on one of Tokyo main avenue it'd be very expensive for sure but as a tourist one can really enjoy the trip with few money.
Isn't it good news?
