D12: Kobe
For my last day in Honshu I decide to visit Kobe. Kobe is not really "touristically" attractive but that's the point: I want see a normal day in a Japanese city.click on lire la suite for more
It's easy to notice that Kobe is not touristic: I'll never find the tourist information office. I decide to follow the instructions on my guide book and try to find Kitano.
Kitano is very touristic (yes I know I told Kobe is not touristic but I meant international tourists) for Japanese because it's the only place in Japan that is on the old-European style. Here we find an English house, a French hotel, Dutch houses... It makes Japanese feel like travelling around Europe.
I must tell that it's very well done and I'm feeling almost back in Europe. And it's pretty funny to be an European tourist in Japan visiting an European look like district with Japanese tourists.
I don't have as many pictures as I would like because my battery is dead.

After Kitano I'm going in the city center and China town. It's smaller than China town in Yokohama but it's lovely, may be cosier. And I'm the only Western tourist!
I like a lot make tourist in non touristics places. I think it's the best way to catch the mood of a country, of a city. I like seat in a park and watch around like a birds watcher. I like go in a coffee and stay for a while. It's very instructive.
I like Kobe very much. Very nice and quiet. No traces of the earthquake eventhough I'm thinking about it. Life goes on. And on very positive way.
