D-3: Yokohama harbour
Today my friend E will show me the harbour, nicest part of the city with art-design skyscrapers and the must: a ferry-look-like bridge with grass on the roof. click on lire la suite for more

It's so hot! From early morning I get the feeling that fire is falling from the sky. It's sunny and it's a perfect day to go to the harbour.
We're going by metro. It takes about 15 minutes to reach Sakuragicho station, the closest station to the harbour and the Landmarket tower, the highest of the city.
It's not that crowded. It's also pretty late. The morning rush is over. Anyway, the metro is almost full. It's amazing to see how japanese are organized. They are all standing in a queue waiting for the train and when the train (or bus or metro or whaterver else as a public transportation) arrives they all get in the car in order and discipline. No push, no scream, nobody shouting. That's SO relaxing. I forget I'm in a 25 millions people area.

That's huge! I like it. I like big cities. I know it makes feel some people very small and lost but not me. I feel higher and better in big spaces. I'm a bit surprised as well. Nothing really fits with what I imagined about Japan. I thought it was so small with so many inhabitants that people were living as green peas in a can. Again a cliché without any ground.
The Landmarket tower is very impressing by dominating a serie of skyscrapers with intersting shapes (a ferry, a sail), an amusement park and a 120 meters high ferris wheel.
The ocean is right here. That's the first time I see the Pacific ocean. Until now I've only seen the Atlantic and the Indian ocean. Basically it's just salted water, no matter how it's called. But when you are from the other side of the world it has an other meaning.
Our promenade on the sea shore is very pleasant. It's so large and big. I mean everything: buildings, roads, paths, bridges as if everything should fit with the immensity of the ocean.

We are walking a pretty long distance to get to the ferry-bridge (the picture under the headline of this article). I don't know the name but it's a construction which represents a ferry. It's a very nice place for a walk or/and get a lovely sun tanning, especially today. We are smelting and taking sunscreen break every hour.
On the way to the bridge, we are passing by a kind of park. Very nice and funny.

I'm so amazed by the lanscape and helpful people. It's simply WONDERFUL. I was very sceptical about Japan before travelling. As I said, I came mostly to visit friends. But now, I know I'm living something marvellous. I know I'm in the wonderland.
